CLIMATE CHANGE

Global Warming is affecting us and it is taking over our earth. If we are going to stop it we need to act now. It's OUR vehicles, OUR garbage, and OUR industries that are thickening the atmosphere. Our waste is melting the ice caps and raising sea levels, making it hard for animals such as polar bears to survive. In a decade or so, some of our major cities might not even exist! This flooding might get into our fresh water therefore, it won’t be fresh anymore. The earth is getting to hot for some animal species to live on.
Factories and cars and other forms of smoke, smog and green house gases are thickening and getting stuck in our atmosphere. When old mr. sun ray comes in, he is reflected of the land and when he reaches the atmosphere, he rebounds again because the atmosphere is too thick to go back through.
The USA alone contributes 25% of the worlds CO2. The poor developing countries of the world are trying to improve how they live and are turning to the industrial way of life and following our lead. In 20 or so years, this might even double our levels of pollution.
On the other hand, global warming isn’t just our fault. The earth heats up and cools down all the time. How else would some years end up warmer and some colder? The media is telling everyone that everything is our fault, but there is no proof that it is. Ice bergs and glaciers might have been melting at the speed that they are now; maybe we just weren’t paying attention then.
I think that if we try to go green, it is possible. We could use environmentally safe soaps, and stop using so many different plastics. We should carpool and bike around instead of using so much gas on a car that only one person uses.
I do believe that we are speeding up the process of heating the earth, and I also believe that it is not entirely our fault, but I think that it doesn’t matter whose fault it is, something should be done. Even if global warming wasn’t or isn’t happening, doing something can’t hurt.

Great post, Dana. Very passionate! I agree that we should be doing something no matter what; it seems to make common sense. You've really explained in detail the components of climate change (cause, effects), and I thought your picture and use of colour helped delineate your post into readable sections. You also took a look at both sides of the issue, so it wasn't one-sided (one of the points of offering an opinon) Nicely done!
